Hey hey,
I want to thank everyone who has subscribed and supported both my newsletter and work even though I have been MIA. I also want to recognize that as a sustainability practitioner and solopreneur, you likely subscribed with interest in the topics listed in my bio and intro, not my personal life necessarily.
I do however want to be transparent enough and recognize that we all go through seasons in our lives, and for me, this summer and autumn have felt like hurricane season with a dense misty fog ahead where there are strong feelings of both optimism and uncertainty.
As I sat to write this post, I had a moment, teared up, and thought of Lena Horne and her angelic voice singing Stormy Weather, which mirrors how I feel during this season.
There is so much that I am sure we are all observing about the state of the world both environmentally & politically; so I will be sharing some interesting research, art, and other things related that I think are worth reading and thinking about.
As I tap back in, wait out my storm, and come back to myself, I ask for your support and patience. I'm here, just taking care of life and working on my terrible habit of not asking for help.
In the meantime, If you are looking for some books on self-reflection and navigating impactful entrepreneurship, I’ve really enjoyed A Renaissance Of Our Own by Rachel Cargle and Wildflower by Aurora James.
Quick sidenote…
interesting observation & musing; I’ve been recently enamored by the color orange which has been showing up in my life over the past few months. Let me know if you have had the same experience with colors showing up in your life in a meaningful way.
Lastly love, if you are interested in my journey as a natural perfumer, please feel free to take a look at In Reverence Of, Parfums.
As always, thank you for being here.
Warmly,
Toya
